YourHometownImages > Drum Point Lighthouse at Solomons Island Maryland. Drum point is one of only three remaining "Screw Pile" type lights that once served the Chesapeake Bay. Drum point was decommissioned in 1962 by the U.S. Coast Guard and began to fall victim to vandals. In 1975 the lighthouse was picked up and moved to Solomons Island to the Calvert Marine Museum.
